Little Girls Grow Up

by limitlesslaura

We celebrated Mother’s Day on Sunday, and  it was a beautiful day. All three of my amazing children participated,  and it turned out that it was my youngest who touched my heart in the most special way.

This young girl, all of 17 as of last Friday, is discovering the world of work, responsibility, and “stepping up” as a person out in the world.

If you are a parent you can relate to birthdays rolling around and taking your children out to pay for their purchases of a card and a gift for a family member, and the same on Father’s Day. Dad would have to do this on Mother’s Day with our kids as well.

There is just something that feels really warm and fuzzy about my daughter walking into my bedroom on Mother’s Day morning with a fresh bouquet of red roses with baby’s breath that she purchased with the income she earned from her job at IKEA. I felt so special, because she put the time, the thought, and the LOVE into CAREfully doing that for me, and taking what little money she has to spend on flowers for me, and a beautiful card.

The card was written out with a long letter about “How You Make Me Feel, Mom”…which really blew me away. She went into great detail to explain her feelings and really be specific.

I think it’s very important to:

Express HOW WE FEEL and WHY we feel that way about the people we LOVE!!

They need to know!! and Often!!

That card made me feel like a million dollars!

Love thought: Take a few minutes today a write a note to someone you really LOVE and tell them WHY you love them! Be detailed and specific about how they make you feel.

It will be the greatest gift you give all week!

Thanks Rachel for making my week!… and my life complete little one who’s all grown up!

I’m a sensitive spiritual, heart centered woman who just doesn’t believe there’s an impossible anything. My joy comes from inspiring growth, and empowering others to bust through their limits. I have fought and overcome chronic illness in my life, and many obstacles while pursuing and living my dreams, with persistence and determination. Mental health awareness and ending the stigma associated with it is a cause that’s very important to me. This blog is dedicated to the beautiful life of Robin Williams and all he gave to the world.
